Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

I live in California and play Fantasy Football every year. It's a contest where a group of 10 individuals all pay money into a pot and at the end of the season their is a winner. The question I have is that my fantasy football league consisted of 8 individuals who all paid $50 to play. These funds were given to the Fantasy Football Commissioner who holds the money until the end of the season. It was determined that 1st place would get $300 and 2nd place would get $100. I won first place but the Fantasy Football Commissioner won't send me the $300. Do I have a case in Small Claims Court in CA or is this considering gambling?

Unfortunately, gambling debts are not enforceable in California courts.
