Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

Sold Boat not paid

I sold my boat seven months ago, he has yet to pay off the boat. I allowed him to make a couple of payments because he said he was buying a house and once he closed he would pay it off. He now wants to return it to me because I am asking him to pay it off now or refinance it into his name, which he said he doesn't want to do. What can I do?

Re: Sold Boat not paid

So he wants to return the boat to you and you get to keep the payments he's already made? That could be a good deal, depending on the size of the payments.

What you can do depends on what your agreement with him was. Was it oral? Was it in writing? Please resubmit with a description of the terms of your agreement. You may or may not have a breach of contract cause of action, depending on what was agreed.
