Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California
In the state of California, if an employer, without warning, suddenly comes into the place of business, announces that the business is closing, removes everone from the premesis, puts new locks on the doors,and effectively fires everyone,via e-mail, except for the very few employees present when he does this,(they were directly notified), when must he make good on the wages due his emplyees? I am sorry for the long sentence, but I was under the impression that the employees should be paid at the time of termination, or within 72 hours

He has to pay immediately. If he doesn't, he owes you penalties and your attorney fees. If you can't find an attorney willing to take the case, you could file a claim with the State Labor Commissioner, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.
