Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in California

Attorneys for my case allowed the defendants to walk away with my intellectual property valued at millions of dollars at trial. This was accomplished by trampling Federal Copyright Law in the Jury Instructions. My attorney filed no pre-trial or post-trial motions to protect my property as a matter of law or otherwise. He has recently filed a lien on my case so that if I win on appeal he essentially takes all. That is, his attorney fees are about three times higher than the jury award for breach. I assume that a motion must be filed to cancel his lien. But I could find no case law or other guidance.

Hard to say without looking at the case. Provide case # and I will attempt to opine if possible, to the extent possible by looking at filed documents available on PACER, and for a small fee plus the actual cost of the pages I have to download. You can always contest the lien down the road.
