Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in California

Legal Malpractice atty/client privilege

Can I sue my former attorney for making a statement to my friend/neighbor in violation to the atty client privilege? Case is from 2006. Just became aware of the violation/breech a few months ago.

If you didn't suffer any real harm, you might either "write it off," or if very serious, report his conduct to the State Bar.

As Mr. Cohen aptly points out, you have several choices.

First, you can always sue anybody. The question is whether or not you can prevail.

You can prove damages, drop it, or report the attorney to the State Bar.

Make sure that the actual charges are accurate, and that there really is a violation of attorney-client privilege.

How come you just learned about something that happened in 2006? Depends what the violation was & if it truly was a breach of the privilege. Would need to know more.
