Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in California
Mislead by attorney
I was arrested in 1997. police came in on a search warrant for narcotics, they found none, but made up some charges on a whole other issue. I was not charged with narcotics and my belief is that police used other narcotic evidence to obtain warrant. at the time the attorney that i had told me that he would help me with a civil suite against the city, but only when the current case was over. now I have found out that the statute of limitations is one year from the date, you should have know that the attorney mislead you or once you discovered that you had been mislead. is this the case and do I still have a chance for a civil suit.

Re: Mislead by attorney
Legal malpractice is not grounds for relief from a blown statute but you can sue the attorney responsible.
