Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in California

unethical malpractice

Our attorney took money from a settlement and then deposited into his own account, according to Ca. State Bar, they also could not find where he paid out money that he claims he did. He told us, at mediation, that costs would be around 8.000.00 then charged us 40,000. with no explanation, after many calls and letters to him we reported him to the state bar. Now he wants us to go to mediation. Can Iask fr punitive damages, and mental anguish? It has been two years of investigation and now he asks us to consider mediation.

Re: unethical malpractice

Get an attorney; you need to see if it is too late to file suit against him for malpractice, fraud, breach fiduciary duty, etc.

I suggest you contact a local attorney at once. Statutes of limitation are running!
