Legal Question in Mediation in California
promise to pay?
Hi. Is there a legal form I can fill out that would dictate that I am to pay someone a specified amount each month for a defined time? My wife and I are separating, and I want to give her something in writing that indicates that I promise to pay her XX dollars each month. Do you have a suggestion? Thanks!

When I am doing a divorce I generally recommend a formal marriage settlement agreement.
You would need to contact an attorney to help you with this.

In a gneeral sense, you could start with a rather simple document called a Stipulation & Order.
For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
