Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

Breach of Confidentiality by a rehab

I was an inpatient for 1 month and an outpatient for 3 months at in rehab in newport beach. I was told the night before that that following day ( which was the rehabs monthly family day) a German radio was going to be taping audio of the presentation as well any interaction between patients and therapists during the Family Day. I was told by my therapista to not sign my real name and I did this. I was pulled out of the room by the Clinical Director saying they needed to have my true name and signature...I reluctantly complied and I chose to remove myself from room when there was any request to have patients participate in the presentation...feel like my confidentiality has been ignored for the sake of marketing...this was also the 1st time a family member had come to treatment and to have all this extra unnecessary bs duz not sit well with me..please advise

So far, you have not been damaged.

You have also not suffered an invasion of privacy.

Move on with your rehab and good luck!

Get well and cooperate with rehab. You have no obligation to participate in any filming, and let them know in no uncertain terms that you do not consent.
