Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

Dental injury exposing jaw bone

I was injured at a dental office by the assistant on Feb 7, 2003. This was not my regular dentist and I was needing an emergency replacement to my partial. During my visit I needed impressions and this is when I was lacerated. The impression mold for the bottom was placed in my mouth and cut my bottom right gums. On the inside portion of my mouth where there is a boney ridge (next to my tongue). I have been back twice to have it looked at they gave me antibotics and said another 3 weeks would be needed. The bone is exposed and I believe there is also a bone chip in my jaw now. They said that it was my gum but I feel a slit in the bone. THey have not paid for the medication I recieved and said I might need another week of medication on top of the 1st round. I asked a lawyer about this and they said it was not worth the hassle. I need to know what I should do from here? My jaw hurts and I the teeth are becoming painful as well. Please advise.

Thank you

Re: Dental injury exposing jaw bone

from the facts given, you might want to start by going to your doctor to have xrays and find out the full extent of your injuries. at that point you would know if the injury was to your gums only and/or your jawbone as well. once you assess the doctor's findings and get full treatment, you may then want to have an attorney evaluate your case, its value, and proceed from there. email me if you would like further assistance.
