Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California
I want to go to a doctor that is not within my insurance providers. My insurance will cover some of the cost if I provide them with some information from the doctor. I have talked to a receptionist at the office and said that she cannot give out this information.
Isn't a Doctor required by law to provide evidence of these 3 things:
1) Malpractice insurance
2) professional licensing
3) W-9

profession licensing is public record so you don't even need to ask her. W-9 they fill out for the insurance, not a big deal. Malpractice is not private but they don't have to reveal it but there is not law that says it cannot be disclosed.
