Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

permanent loss of lashes

About 7 years ago I had a mini face lift and eye lid surgery on top and bottom lids. I was given a local during this whole procedure. a few minutes before the operation the doc said he was going to use a new state of the art equipment on me ,is that ok?? I said yes,not knowing at the time that a sales rep for the new equipment was there so he could try it out..on me!! which at the time I didn't know. During the surgery, when working on my left eye he cut the bottom lid in error and I said ouch!! what was that.. After a few days my right bottom lid got a puscle on it so I went in and he told me it was conjunctivious in my eye and gave me a prescription slip for it. I know it wasn't that because my eye wasn't red at all, it was just my lid with a puss bump on it. After a few weeks I went in the office and told him I was losing lashes an he said they would grow back don't weary. As time past the lashes would come in alittle then seem to thin out but I coped with it doing my eye makeup different on that side to compensate for the lash lost. Now 7yrs later all of a sudden alot of lashes have come out leaving a big bare gap on my bottom right eye lid. I went to the eye specialist today and all he can do is prescribe lumigan(grows lashes)

Re: permanent loss of lashes

You need to see a medical malpractice attorney, and let him/her look into this.

I cannot advise you further without reviewing the records, but I caution you that there are not as easy as they sound.

Also, the review can get expensive.

Good luck!
