Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California
How does a person(American citizen)
apply for financial assistance from the state or federal. I know of a 45 year old woman who has a serious medical disorder which has been ongoing now for at least 1 year, which was brought about after a Dr. treated her with nuclear medicine to destroy her thyroid but instead caused her to lose all her hair, and have mentral bleeding 3 weeks a month causing severe anemia, weakness, etc.and prevents her from being able to work, she has no insurance even though her employer promised he would provide her with ins. starting Dec 1st so she could get some medical help. employer is not obligated by law so now what? she is flat broke from illness and not being able to work. Please help me to send her to the right place. the attending physician won't see her without charge, I believe this is a case of negligence, incompetence, medical malpractice and this woman has suffered horribly as a result.
Thank you for any assistance you can give us .

Since your zip code indicates you are from Encinitas, there are Legal Aid offices in your area, and these are the kind of cases they handle. (I googled right to a San Diego University Law Clinic for Legal Aid.
If you don't find help, please re submit to Law Guru, or e-mail and/or call my office and we'll try to figure out what to do next.
Good luck!

You can have the case evaluated by a malpractice lawyer. It will cost something to collect the medical records and have an expert's review of the records to formulate an opinion of whether there was malpractice and what if any injury the malpractice caused.
As for treatment, without insurance or independent resources she will have to go to a County Hospital like USC Medical Center and wait through the system.
