Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

If I had a successful fourteen year career in emergency medical services, then someone lied about me and I was placed under a 5150 hold a little over a year ago, and since then I have been terminated from two jobs, I didn't keep my contract for another year at another job, and I'm ineffective at my current job, do I have any recourse?

I have been unable to find anyone to hire me for emergency medical services work because of the 5150 hold, but all of the jobs that haven't worked out since there have involved other work for which I was extremely overqualified, and they were in different geographic areas and different industries, however since that 5150 hold I have been passing out several times a day, I periodically wet my pants, I can't concentrate (another psychiatrist actually diagnosed me with an inability to concentrate but that didn't help), I can't memorize really simple information like my credit card number anymore, etc.--it's like my brain is a computer and the 5150 provider put several viruses on it; I contacted them several times and they never return my messages.

I suggest that you talk to an attorney specializing in Social Security Disability Insurance in your community. Whatever the cause of your problems, if you have been unable to hold down a job due to an inability to concentrate and other issues, there's a good chance you are eligible for an SSDI pension, and Medicare health benefits 2 years after the effective date of your SSDI eligibility.

Having the help of a lawyer in applying for SSDI is a very good idea, as a lawyer experienced in the field knows what works and what doesn't work in successfully obtaining eligibility for benefits. Also, SSDI lawyers are paid a set percentage (I believe it's 15% but don't hold me to that) of the first retroactive payment made when your eligibility is granted.
