Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

Given Wrong Medications

Grandpa had uncontrolled body movement of swaying back and forth, loss control of bowels and urine, hand shaking all the time and slured speech. Was told he had Parkinsons. Stopped the medication and grandpa is fine. No uncontrolled anything. He regained bowel and urine control, hands are not shaking and he is not swaying back and forth. His memory is also back pretty much. The medications obviously were causing this horrible reaction. Is this considered Malpractice because a doctor gave him these meds without testing for Parkinsons?

Re: Given Wrong Medications

That's the wrong question. The real question is for how long did he suffer on this medication and what (and when) did the doctors do to find out the cause. I assume from your story the drug was given for treatment of something. What? What were his symptoms or problems before the medication. How is he now?

Re: Given Wrong Medications

Your Grandfather might have a case against his doctor. The question however, is the value thereof. Which, can only be answered after careful review of his medical records as well as your Grandfather and the family who had to endure the hardship. Please contact me for a no-cost review if interested.
