He has no legal options other than completing his term of enlistment. That's why the Army has recruits sign a contract. It's legally binding on him so that he can't just decide he doesn't like it and quit. Unlike civilian jobs, walking away carries potential criminal penalties. At some point he considered this life decision a good one. His best option is to do the best he can with the rest of his BCT training, then excel in language school. It's the best language training in the world. His earning potential will be unlimited when he finishes his enlistment with an honorable discharge and applies for a job or seeks more education. Attempting to terminate his contract will end badly for him. You should be supportive by encouraging him to honor his commitment.
