Legal Question in Military Law in California
I am currently involved in an ongoing investigation that is drug related. Our legal officer is one of the few people onboard who knows about this. No one else involved, no witnesses. I found out recently he was asking questions about my case to some of the enlisted guys. He is only privileged to the information because he is the legal officer and I feel he shouldn't be able to talk about my case with other people not involved, especially since the allegations are not true. Is he allowed to talk to whoever about an ongoing investigation?

I would take this up with the legal officer. I assume this the non lawyer Navy legal officer. Your best place is with him, then the JAG or IG.
