To determine what Veteran's Benefits you are eligible for, contact your closest Department of Veterans Affairs office. Also, most American Legion or VFW posts have someone who can explain veteran's entitlements to you. As an Honorably Discharged veteran with 4 years of service, there are numerous benefits that you qualify for. They will need to see a copy of your DD Form 214, or Discharge Paperwork.

However, to answer the specific question about your diabetes issue, I would have to review documents and medical records. Talk to the VA first - it's free and then, if you still have legal questions, contact an attorney in your area that handles veterans/military law issues.

Good Luck to you.
