Legal Question in Military Law in California

I am working on joining the Navy, they say once you leave to bootcamp they do a backround check to see if you have a criminal record, or to see if you have ever had a criminal record. I got into trouble when i was 15 by stealing alchohol from a store and was sent to a rehabilitation program, which made all m charges misdemeanors. I am now 18, my records have been expunged and sealed, and i have not been in trouble with the law or fingerprinted since. I have heard that the FBI can still see the crimes you have commited. Is this true or is this a scare tactic?

The Navy will do a type of background check called an Entrance National Agency Check (ENTNAC). For sure they will find out about your misdemeanors, so fill out all forms truthfully. They might or might not care very much about the crimes, but they will for sure trashcan you for lying on the form.
