Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I have 2 large dogs (pitbulls) and my neighbor brought her very small dog over to my house. She also brought lots of treats and bones and threw them all over the floor. There was an altercation over one of the treats that her dog had. Unfortunately, her dog was injured. She is trying to hold me financially responsible. Am I?

You invited both of them in and knew what might happen. Dogs will compete for a bone or other small object. Pitbulls are known to be aggressive and very physical. You could reasonably forseen that a fight would occur and her dog would be injured. Yes, you are liable.
