Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

2nd Degree burns from a faulty tanning bed

Hello and thank you for your time. I received 2nd degree burns to my left breast and part of my right from a faulty tanning bed. The acrylic piece detached from the top of the bed and fried me June 2, 2006. I retained an Attorney after the incident and we had Mediation today. Just met him today in fact for the first time (odd). Defense only offered $3,000.00 for 2nd degree burns, 2 rounds of antibiotics for infection, purple discolored breasts and scars and only $3,000.00??? My Atty said we should not go to Trail because they will hire a Specialist to say I could have taken medication that could have made my breast sensitive. He does not want to go forward now. I am devastated because he has never even met me, did any homework to ensure we know what we are doing, having experienced a burn like that could cause skin cancer in the future and the pain and suffering I endured with stabbing pains for almost 2 years is inexcusable. Is there anyone out there that is a Burn Specialist Attorney in Southern California that can help me?? My Atty told me not to worry about the Statute however, I understand I only have 2 years and it is coming up.

I would appreciate your help and consideration and any info or direction you can give me.

Sorry, I have been ill and just answering May's questions.

Obviously, hope you took care of this before June 2.

Good luck!

Hello.

I would be very concerned about an attorney who says that you shouldn't worry about the statute of limitations. I understand that you filed a lawsuit against the defendants. If not, you must do so before June 2, 2008. If the lawsuit has already been filed, then you really have nothing to worry about.

$3,000 sounds like an incredibly low figure. I would hate to put a price on your injury but it should certainly be more than $3k.

I don't understand how it is possible that your attorney never even met you.

If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me at [email protected] any time.

Thanks,

Arkady

What are your medical bills? What would a plastic surgeon charge to remove the scar and discolored tissue? Do you have money for expert witnesses minimum of $ 3K -

$ 6K? Was the tanning salon at fault or the manufacturer? Contact me directly.
