Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

my 19 year old son received a phone call today by a lawyer asking about a accident he was in on aug.2008. he told my son that he owes $6000.00 plus for the accident. thats it .what should i do ?

Unless the attorney filed a lawsuit within 2 years of the accident, he's blowing smoke. Don't talk to this attorney anymore. If you receive a lawsuit, send it to your auto insurance carrier.
