Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
Got in an accident no cops called
I was involved in a fender bender at a stop light, I bumped into the car in front of me and tapped his bumper enough to slightly bend my license plate. A highway parol officer pulled out of a driveway right next to us at the time and I am sure that he witness it and also as trhe other driver honked and honked the CHP didn't stop...we pulled over and I gave my info to other driver but he gave me his number. I had no ins he will report it and I don't have that urance and he decided not to contat police but he demands $500 in two days and the rest soon after saying he got a estimate of $1100. I know there was not that much damage at allnothing rubbing compound wouldn't handle. I am concerned that much money anyways...what do I do. I asked the next ay for his insurance and he said that he didn't want to give me that info. What should I do ....
Nervous!

Agree to pay him the $500.00 only if the other party signs a liability release for both his property damage and bodily injury that he may claim against you. This way he would have a difficult time suing you should he decide to do so.
