Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Can I assume full responsibilty on car accident, uninsured w/suspended

I was at fault in a car accident, with a susupended license, no insurance. I want to assume full responsibilty. The vehicle is financed through my ex father in law. I don't him to be held liable, he wasnt aware of my suspension. The car has been impounded. I don't know where to begin to get myself out of this mess. What will happen to me.

Your ex-father in law will be responsible if he was the registered owner. His liability may be limited to $15,000, however. You should see if he had insurance on the car. If neither one of you had insurance, you need to talk to the other party, or their insurance company, and see if you can work out a payment plan. That will be better than them getting a judgment against you. You should have an attorney review any documents. You can read more about accidents without insurance at my blog, www.calpiblog.com

The idea that you would like to Be Responsible is total self-serving BS. If you wanted to be responsible you wouldn't have been driving an uninsured vehicle, or with a suspended license for that matter. Other than that listen to attorney Stein.
