If an attorney accept service by notice and acknowlegement and then does not answer what are the legal ramification

The plaintiff, after notice to the attorney, may than apply to the court for entry of default.

Mr. Selik is correct, but with one word of warning to the plaintiff - if the attorney and his or her client tell the court he was not actually authorized to accept service and he did so by mistake, the service is void and the default will not be entered or it will be set aside.
