attorney client misconduct

yikes,time sensitive. dog bite settlement no lose case? desperate for $$ all sudden lawyer asks client to take an advance of 10.000 to continue depositions found out more $ is to be towards settlement. client doesn't have $ nor is comfortable w/getting a 5th advance @ ?% interest. soon after case settles on 1st offer. 87.000 not including expenses are deposited in business acct. and client agrees to 38.000 to b received. now lawyer says he found more expenses absorbing clients part minus 6000. that he gave in instalments over a 2 week period. no final acctg. has been given and left file at home. over the last 2 weeks he gave 400. after saying there is no more $. help. this is just a glimpse of this case. thanks if u can suggest what to do

The attorney should give you a detailed break down of where all the money has gone. If not you have to contact the state bar, or threaten to do so, unless the attorney give you a complete breakdown. You may have an attorney malpractice case.
