Two years for personal injury; three years for property damage. People usually get better results with a lawyer on their side!
Re: Auto Accident Statute of Limitations
Generally, it is two years from the date of the injury. However, there are exceptions such as when dealing with a governmental entity or agency where you need to file an administrative claim within six months.
You should consult with an attorney to get all the facts.

Possibly as long as two years, but don't delay even one day as evidence grows stale, and witnesses' memories fade. Also you could seriously foul things up in the meantime by giving statements to insurance companies, not immediately going to doctors for needed medical care, or not preserving physical evidence such as wrecked cars. Retain an attorney near you without delay.

You can file a claim against the other person's insurance at any time. However, you must either settle your claim or file a lawsuit within two years of the date of the accident for bodily injury and within three years for property damage.

2 years from the date of the accident, or if it involves a governmental entity you must file a claim with that entity within 6 months of the date of the accident. Check out my website at www.thepersonalinjury.com for valuable information. You may also call me for a free consultation at 818.739.4544
