Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

My boyfriend hand over his car keys to his 17 year old ex-stepdaughter. He has purchased insurance for her. However, if she gets in a very bad accident...i think insurance only covers so much. Can her mother go after my boyfriends assets for damages? Thanks in advance.

He needs to speak to the automobile insurance carrier as to what the exact coverage is as you are saying he lets her use his car but she is an additionally named insured. I suspect that the insurance was not purchased under those terms so if an accident does occur there may not be any coverage.
