Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

My boyfriend's mom is from India. I am a blond Catholic student. My boyfriend and I have been dating 3 years and his mom continues to call me degrading names like 'whore' and 'peasant' My boyfriend's mom will stop at nothing to break us up and with a different philosophy on life, she continues to insult me to my boyfriend and all her friends. She will not accept that we are boyfriend and girlfriend. Can I have any protection against her name calling?

You can get a restraining order if you like. Sounds like an extremely difficult situation. It is not possible to control personal behavior in these kind of intimate family relationships. Hatred appears to be deep rooted. I think this is more like a personal question than a legal question. You need to get your boyfriend on your side and have him balance the relationship and behavior. Legally, you can go as far as you go but eventually it will affect your personal relationship.
