Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

getting burned by a zippo lighter...

I recently got burned by a zippo style lighter. After lighting a cigarette, I closed the lighter and put it in my pocket. After a little while I felt a burning sensation on my leg, apparently the flame never went out. There is a mark on my leg from this burn which imprints the design of the lighter. After this occurred, I decided to take the lighter apart and on the side it reads, ''to extinguish, close lid'' that's what I did, but I got burned! Do I have a lawsuit?

Yeah, but, unless the injury is severe it is probably not worth pursuing except in small claims cours.

Yes, but it depends on your damages.

Small claims Court is for under small amounts, and you don't need an attorney.

It may not hurt to retain a lawyer merely to write a letter to Zippo demanding soe compensation.
