car repairs?

am I legally resposible if i fix my friend's car and he gets into an accident?

Probably.

The legal question is whether there was causation involved....that is if you fixed the car improperly, and that was the cause of the accident.

If you repair the car negligently and your negligent repair is a significant cause of the accident.
