Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Carrier Wants A Statement My Attorney Says

Re: Carrier Wants A Statement My Attorney Says

Most carriers like to interview the claimant through his attorney to "evaluate" the claim. The insurance carrier wants to send someone to your lawyer's office to tape record a statement from you. The investigator will ask questions, and you will answer to the best of your ability.

Many personal injury lawyers prefer that a statement only be given during a lawsuit because they assume that the insurance carrier won't pay, anyway, and will use the "free" information against you when you file the lawsuit.
