Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
Do I have a case?
I attended an Event at Edison Field, before it started I went to the snack bar. As I returned to my seat the Pledge of Alligence was just ending. (We were on the very top level). All of a sudden the lights went out and I fell down the stairs, they were doing a memorial for someone who died. There was no warning. I decided to leave. My friend walked me to my car. In order for her to re-enter she explained what happened to a Supervisor. He did ask if I wanted First aid. I just wanted to go home. I began to hurt, went to dr.s and placed a call to Edison Field. The operations mgr was to call me but has not yet. Do i have a case?

Re: Do I have a case?
Probably. It seems that the stadium should have known there would be people moving about when the lights were lowered and should have taken precautions to prevent an accident like this. Of course, the stadium might actually have taken appropriate precautions, so there is no way to know what your chances are.
How much of a case you have depends on how seriously you were injured. If it was a minor injury you might want to take them to small claims court, where you can recover up to $5,000 and won't have to pay for an attorney. Keep in mind that you only get one lawsuit; you can't bring a second case in order to get more than the $5,000.

It depends on the amount of injury. You might write them a letter asking for reimbursement of your doctor's bills, value of your lost time from work, cost of your admission ticket, and pain and suffering. See what their response is before getting involved with a lawyer.

Yes, it sound like a good case to me. My practice is primarily personal injury. You have a negligence and premises liability cause's of action here no doubt about it. As the attorney's mentioned above, it all comes down to your injuries, medical treatment, etc.
