Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
In this case it was a pedestrian car accident. I was going 15 miles per hour in a residential street during night time around 1a.m. as I was making a left turn into a residential street while there was a black SUV parked near the end of the curve blocking and as I made that turn I felt a person bump the side of my car while crossing the street. It had happened so fast i did not see him. I immediately stopped my car and got out to ask if he was okay as I saw his foot was broken, he was wearing all black holding a black bag with 2 alcohol bottles. i was ready to call the cops to file a report as he quickly refused to call the cops because he said he had a warrant then said he was okay it was not my fault. So i helped him get inside my passenger seat; he smelled like alcohol as I picked him up. I asked if he had family around to let them know the situation, he said yes and led me to where he lived. I walked towards his house and asked for his wife, she comes out I told her exactly what happened so she gets inside the car and i told him that i was going to take him to the hospital as he also refused, but his wife said we are going no matter what and i immediately took them both to the ER. It's been 5 months since the incident and now he is suing me, what should I do?
