child neglegence

an employee with the YMCA left a child on school campus unattended for the night and the parent not knowing where the child was. The employee left for the night and a serch team when looking for the child. Can i take legal action

Your question should not be whether you can take legal action (you can always sue anybody), but whether you have a good chance to win.

There are too many missing facts here to answer. What did the employee have to do with the school campus? Was the child your child? How old? Was the employee on YMCA business at the time? Was there a police report? Was the child injured?

Sure. But, unless you or your child is so traumatized that the child or you are in some way profoundly injured emotionally and will need professional hel for a substantial period of time, I'd make this a small claims action.
