Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

To whom it may concern:

I thank you for your response in advance.

I recently had a car accident. As I was exiting freeway, a woman driving a SUV rear ended me on ramp. Nobody was injured at the time. Later her husband arrived in a separate car and asked me if I don't mind if insurance doesn't get involved. He offered me around $1,000 for repair. I told him that I will think about it and did some research. Lowest quote rear bumper replacement would cost me $923 and I only have liability insurance. This is very stressful situation, I am the victim and I have to do all research and homework. What is the maximum amount I can ask and if my demand is refused what kind of measure could I take?

Thank you.

Considering the fact you are not injured, it appears that you have been offered more than what it will take to make you whole. Take the $1000 and move on.
