Cop shoots dog and runs

What legal actions can I take if an officer of law enters my home unlawfully, shoots my dog, then turns around and runs out the door without saying a word? There were no illegal acts being committed giving the officer any reason to enter the home in the first place. No citations were ever given, the officer was in uniform without a badge. What and how much should I be suing for?

You should sue for the value of the dog. If it is not prue breed I'd say about $25. If it is pure breed and you have papers you could collect up to $500.
