Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Costly Car Damage: Who Pays?

What legal action can be done? Car owner had two maintenance service providers work on car. Neglect on someone's part caused extensive rear differential damage ($2000 repair work). Both service providers claims..... not responsible.....work was done underneath car missing oil plug......Car owner without transportation, now renting car..no concern from both service maintenance providers, car sitting on dealership lot, and no contact from dealership as to status.

Re: Costly Car Damage: Who Pays?

You will need to prove which one did the damage so you might have to get a third mechanic to give you advice on that.

Re: Costly Car Damage: Who Pays?

I would demand reimbursement for the repairs as well as damages from both providers and let them prove that they did not cause the damage. It sounds like you have almost $3,000 in damages including the rental car fees. If you need help getting them to take you seriously I would be happy to help. For a tenth of what they owe you I can shoot out a few letters and phone calls threatening legal action if they don't pay you. If you would like to discuss this and other options please feel free to contact me at 888-563-8529. I look forward to hearing from you.
