A motion in limine is a motion, typiclaly brought right before to limit or prohibit certain evidence from being presented at trial.

A motion in limine is one brought at or shortly before the start of a trial in order to resolve issues which would otherwise have to be resolved during trial. Such motions typically concern whether certain evidence should be admitted or excluded, but they can address almost any kind of issue.
