Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
Me and my dog were attacked by two pit bulls in my fenced backyard (1/21/10). The dog attacked me first by jumping on my back and I fought him off and then my dog (Klondike) took on the two viscous pit bulls and all of the brutal attack bites (over $1,500.00 + in vet bills, etc.and I have been left with the terrible nightmares going on day and night and now in therapy. The owner of the dogs told me "take me to court". So, I called the owner of the house and told him about what his tenants have let happen and, he told me "take me to court". This guy owns several rental properties and a flower shop here in town. I need help. Please will someone help us. Thank you and God bless. Patty Krueger 862 Marjorie Ave. Hemet, CA 92543 951.766.8238

Patty,
I am so sorry to hear of the attack. Unfortunately, if that is their attitude you will need to take them to court. You deserve to be compensated for your financial damages including the vet bills. It sounds like you are suffering from PTSD, which you may be also compensated for.
I would be happy to discuss your options with you. Feel free to contact me via email or phone at your convenience.
Regards,
Bryan

Were you bitten? Besides the stress did you suffer physical injuries such as scars, etc.? IF you did you are entitled to compensation for the treatement of your injuries plue pain and suffering and reimbursement of the vet bills too. It sounds like the property owner and owner of the dogs both have an attitude. The homeowner's liability insurance should cover this but many insurance carriers have specific exclusion for certain breeds of dogs (which usually includeds pit bulls unfortunately). But you should go after them. Bob
