Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
How to dollarize time spent on accident if retired?
Its easy to calculate lost wages if working, but how to dollarize time spent on accident: medical treatment, going to doctors, compiling bills, etc. if one is RETIRED?

When retired or unemployed, you really don't have a wage loss claim to speak of. The time and inconvenience spent on accident-related matters goes into the general damage category or what is called "pain and suffering." The nature and extent of your injuries will be a major factor. If you are in the Orange County area and have a legal matter, I'd be glad to give you a free consultation and expain further. There is no exact science. I have never figured in the time one spends seeing doctors as compensable, since it all falls into the "pain and suffering" category. You should ask yourself how much suffering (including driving to a doctor) did you have to go through in order to heal from the injuries the other party inflicted on you. The reply by Mr. Cohen is the best.
