Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
I was driving a vehicle I did not own and thought it was insured (insurance card stated it was valid) was involved in accident, DMV reported car was not insured and that my license would be suspended, I asked for and received hearing from DMV and results were that vehicle was not insured so license is suspended. I went and purchased my own insurance policy back on June 2, 2009. Somehow, the DMV picked up that date as the accident date and all of the paperwork from DMV says accident date: June 2, 2009. Someone told me that because they have the date wrong I can file something stating I was not involved in an accident on that date and they have to throw the case out, is this true? I am in CA

Who is this someone and what expertise do they have? Courts do not throw out vedicts or decisions because of non-harmful minor mistakes. Also, you never brought the issue up so how can you raise it how; you wil appear to be just playing a game to avoid what did occur. If the insurance card said it was valid why did they not accept that argument that you had no way of knowing it was invalid. You must have given the impression that you were not honest. You do not tell us whether you bought insuance before or after the accident [I have assumed after the accident].
