Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
Eleven months ago, my son and I were in an automobile accident involving 3 vehicles. We were the middle vehicle. I was injured and taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries. I hired an attorney, but can't seem to get any answers from him as to the status of my case. Is it normal for a personal injury atty, to not tell client about their case? It is starting to make me physically sick. I just want to know where we stand in the progress of my case.

That is not usual. If you don't get an answer within a couple of weeks, you might consider retaining another attorney, or at least make noise about hiring someone else. I know that, in this case, no news might not be good news.
These cases might take a bit of time to resolve, but there's no excuse for the attorney's lack of communication. Please let me know directly if I might be of help.

It is unaccetable to not get answers from your attorney after a reasonable period of time.
It is unacceptable to be treated this way. I always respond to client calls and keep them informed of major developments.
That is simply ridiculous and wrong. I try to return calls the same day or 24 hours whenever possible (unless I'm in court , deposition or mediation. You should always receive a return call and kept "in the loop" about what is going on in you case. I hope this helps. Bob
Practically, I would contact the attorney's office and request to speak with a paralegal or a secretary. Ask that person about your case and what has been happening. If you cannot get through, write a letter and forward it to the attorney advising him/her that if you are not contacted by a certain date, you will begin looking for a different attorney due to his/her failure to respond.
A client is entitled to know the status of their case and our office always returns calls within 24 hours.
