Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

are e-mails from my lawyer to me considered legal? I signed an initial agreement with my attorney with terms, we both agreed to modify a couple of items including his percentage, and he emailed me agreeing to the change. Does this over-ride my initial agreement with him? Is this now legal?

You should ask for a modified retainer agreement that reflects the changes and ask for a copy
