Your being a veteran has noting to do with what damages you can allege.

Being a veteran is not an issue. Your damages, what they cost you (not monetarily), any future repercussion, expense or inconvenience and many other issues are what matters. You might need to have a lawyer review whatever it is you are doing. In personal injury cases, NO ONE will ever give your full entitlement without a lawyer. Unless you are dealing with something very specific that requires a very specific payment for a specific condition. You may think you are saving money but usually your are losing.

At the very least, have someone review your file or at least the settlement offer before you sign away all your rights to any future money that you may not even know you are entitled to.

Your status as a veteran does not have any effect on what you can either sue for or more importantly recover in a Federal Tort Claim Action unless it involves a specific type of veteran�s claim or program. What limits your recovery is the factual basis for liability and the damages you can prove.
