$15,000.00 max. That's when liability is based purely on ownership. If you give your keys to a drunk friend, then it could be more.

$15,000 for injury to ONE person, $30,000 for two or more, plus $5,000 property damage. These limits may not apply if you negligently lend the vehicle to someone (such as the drunk friend exemple Mr. Stone-Molloy suggests), or if you fail to carry insurance.
