Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
I was trying to find a mechanic on Craigslist. I spoke with one, didn't like his attitude, said, "Thanks, anyway," and hung up the phone. He called and left an obnoxious voicemail constantly referring to me as "Realtor" (my profession) because of my answering message. I sent him a text which apparently set him off further and led to a prolonged exchange of texts. He threatened to contact my Broker to try to get me fired and the Bureau of Real Estate to try to get my license revoked. He stated multiple times that he ALWAYS gets the last word which apparently involves my Broker and BRE even though my phone call had absolutely nothing to do with real estate, just his mechanic business. Do I have any recourse against him if he contacts my Broker or the BRE? I'm guessing he might be mentally or emotionally unstable because there is no reason behind his actions.

You can file a lawsuit for several different torts, but the issue is whether or not you have damages when a nutjob contacts your employer or the BRE. The BRE is not going to institute discipline just because some mechanic does not like you.
