Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
I was found to be at fault in a car accident. My question is: if the injured party sues above the amount of my policy, can he come after my personal residence? That is the only asset that I own.

Yes, they can come after you for money beyond your limits. Fortunately, that does not happen too often as the aggravation factor prevents that mostly.
Yes, that can happen.

Usually, the attorney hired by your insurance company convinces the other side to settle for the policy limits.
If they do obtain a judgment in excess of the policy limits, you have other remedies at your disposal, i.e., bankruptcy and/or claims of exemption. Take this matter one step at a time. Let's see if they will take policy limits first.
