Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I was given fraudulent auto insurance information.. it turned out the insurance information was of the prior owner of the other vehicle, not the actual owner. i don't believe the current owner had any insurance or was trying to avoid his insurance rates going up. report of accident filed with dmv is incorrect per the fraudelent information.. should i notify dmv of same and can the current owner be arrested for fraud? if he can be arrested for fraud, how do i go about having him arrested?

That the other driver gave you false information does not mean that the did so as to the DMV. You should tell the DMV what yo do know. The local police department probably will not try to arrest him, as the other driver basically lied to you but may have not caused fraudlent act.
