Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I let my friend ride my motorcycle and he got into an accedent and caused $20000 in damages to the other party, now there insurance wants me to pay them for the damages, my friend has since avoided me and says its my fault for lending him the bike, however he willingly took the bike, i did not force him, the bike is wrecked and it had no insurance, what can i do? take him to small claims? put a lean on his credit?

You'll have to sue your so-called friend. Small Claims may not be the right venue, since he did more that $7,500 in damages. Good luck.
